The 14th International Conference on Concurrent Enterprising (ICE 2008) will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, from 23 to 25 June. This year's event is entitled 'A new wave of innovation in collaborative networks'.
ICE 2008 will bring together researchers and practitioners from around the world to present the latest findings from their research and share their hands-on experience from industry.
Conference topics include, for example, ambient assisted environments, real-time location and identification, co-creation, co-innovation and open innovation, concurrent engineering methods and processes as well as issues of product data and product lifecycle management and many more.
The term 'concurrent enterprising' is an amalgam which brings together the paradigms of concurrent engineering and extended/virtual enterprising. The concurrent enterprise is a distributed, temporary alliance of independent, co-operating manufacturers, customers and suppliers using systematic approaches, methods and advanced technologies for increasing efficiency in the design and manufacturing of products and services.
