French government minister Christine Lagarde officially open Vinexpo 2007

Bordeaux June 7, 2007 – VINEXPO, the world’s biggest wine and spirits exhibition, opens its doors in Bordeaux for the 14th international exhibition on June 17. Over five days, more than
2,400 exhibitors from 45 countries will showcase wines and spirits to 50,000 trade professionals from 140 countries and 1,200 media representatives.

VINEXPO will be officially opened at 10.30am on Monday June 18 by Mme Christine Lagarde, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, and M. Alain Juppé, Minister of State, Minister of
Ecology and of Sustainable Management and Development, M. Juppé is also Mayor of Bordeaux.

Media representatives wishing to attend the opening ceremony are requested to assemble at 10am at door V in the Palis des Congrès, Bordeaux Lac.

Today, June 7 is also the final day that media can register for their electronic badges on the VINEXPO website.

New features of this year’s international exhibition include, the Club du Lac – air-conditioned pavilions for major global brands; MARKETERS BY VINEXPO – the first exhibition dedicated to the
selling and marketing of wine and spirits; and the opening of a 430 metres floating bridge across the lake to link the main exhibition halls with the conference centre and marketing exhibition.

Among other new feature is the addition of a spirits Jury Découverte composed of leading spirits writers and sommeliers. Operating anonymously, the jury will select a supreme winner from
all the spirits on display. The wine Jury Découverte, now in its fourth season, will select a supreme winner for red, white and rose wines.
